Montana Simulcast
Partners is a non-profit corporation formed by the live race meets in the state
of Montana to
conduct simulcast wagering on a year-around basis in the state. By state
law, 3% of all exotic wagers and 1% of all wagers must be set aside each year
to be distributed by the Montana Board of Horse Racing back to the industry in
the form of purses and assistance to the live race track. MSP has been in
existence since 1989 and since then, over 10 million dollars has been generated
for the live horse racing industry in the state.
Directors

Simulcast Partners
Each live race meeting in
the state of Montana
has a Director on the Board of Montana Simulcast Partners. They meet
approximately 5 times a year. Officer elections are held each
September. Current members of the board are Bill
Nooney, Sr. President representing Western Montana Fair
Race Meet in Missoula and Vice President Ben
Carlson, Yellowstone Horse Racing Alliance in Billings. Directors include Bill Ogg, State Fair in Great
Falls, and Don Richard from Miles City
and the Miles City Bucking Horse Sale Company.
Each Director has an equal
vote in the operations of Montana Simulcast Partners. Any amounts of
money above and beyond the legislative requirements are distributed to the
racing industry twice a year. Once at the end of May, representing profit
from October 1 thru May 31, and during the summer, representing profit from the
summer simulcast schedule, June 1 thru September 30.
