Miles City Bucking Horse Sale - MC

The first race meeting of the season in Montana is traditionally the Miles City Bucking Horse Sale Race Meet in Miles City.  Named for the marquee event, the Bucking Horse Sale, is operated by volunteers from the Bucking Horse Sale Company.  The race meeting starts in May.

State Fair Race Meet

Normally starting the last part of June or the first part of July, Great Falls is the host of a mixed race meet.  The race meeting will be conducted by the Montana State Fair management under the direction of Bill Ogg, Montana State Fair Manager.

Yellowstone Horse Racing Alliance - YD

Yellowstone Downs, located in Billings  will start their racing season the last part of August or the first part of September. Yellowstone Downs will race two or three days a week thru the end of September.  They will race on Labor Day. Yellowstone Downs is operated by a non-profit group called the Yellowstone Horse Racing Alliance. Approximately 9 to 12 days of mixed breed racing is offered.
